On Tuesday 5 February, House of Hi-Fi, Society and Sub78 come together to bring you Issa Garage Ting with the hottest UKG galdem in the current scene, 24hr Garage Girls at Bournemouth’s renowned venue - The Old Fire Station. With Boomtown 2013 being their starting point, since then, the power collective have continued to give it that old school flavour at every club and festival they’ve frequented. Hosting upstairs, House of Hi-Fi explores sounds from a multitude of genres from grime, dub, UKG and bassline, taking you on a journey through underground music with DJ’s Neffa-T, Dunman, DV-US and Gbangaz hosted by MC, Zello. House of Hi-Fi began as a series of small-scale underground dance music events in late 2017, these have continued to celebrate the original scene of rave culture, up and coming musicians and visual artists by showcasing the best of propitious DJs and producers in the local scene.
Dunman is a producer/ DJ based in the South Coast of UK, in his hometown, Bournemouth. He produces mostly Grime, Garage, Dubstep, but anything oriented around the 140 bpm mark is the go to. He has releases on recognisable and established record labels such asSub Low Audio, Project Allout Records, Siege Collective, Southpoint Introducing, Chameleon Audio & Influx Audio. Dunman also co-owns a record label, ESC_ and an events night based in Bournemouth, Slew-Dat.
Over years of involvement within the music industry, Neffa-T has established himself as one of the top DJs within Dubstep and Grime, utilising three decks to deliver a combination of high technical ability and originality. Music productions have led to releases and collaborations with renowned labels, includingWhite Peach Records, SUBPAC and Pearly Whites. DJ sets not only cover a selection of new and unreleased music but also showcase his own productions, influences and forthcoming projects.
DV-US, also known as Metis, ranges between Garage, Bass and UK Funky. With previous releases on Project All Out / Hot Cakes Bass and used to run the record label Sub Low Audio. Now managing label 'ESC_' with Dunman and Vexxy releasing 140 music with a monthly Radio show slot on Goat Shed Radio.
Gbangaz, resident DJ of Lo-Wave - Portsmouth’s drum and bass and Bassline collective, had his debut set at House of Hi-Fi’s first ever Junglist event. Since then, he has continued to host and perform at a number of events around Portsmouth, including radio shows and delving into musical production. Gbangaz’ current musical interests involve grime, dub and speed garage.
Our host for upstairs is drum and bass, hip-hop and grime artist MC- Zello. He went from MC’ing with his mates in college, to 35 people charity events, then progressed to performing to just under a thousand people in Bournemouth’s biggest nightclub, Halo. Zello has been on posters and warm up acts for the likes of Hardy Caprio, Jaykae and Guv and has performed just under 40 live shows in 2018, including a B2B with his inspiration, Traumatik.
