The legendary drum and bass trio Black Sun Empire are taking over London’s E1 venue on Friday 8 November for the next edition of their revered Blackout nights.

Black Sun Empire are made of three producers Rene Verdult, Micha and Milan Heyboer, originally from the Netherlands. Since its inception in 1997, the group have released five full-length albums and run three record labels, Black Sun Empire Recordings, Obsessions, and the more well-known Blackout Music NL. This year saw the group play a sold-out Village Underground, a busy festival season including Let It Roll and Boomtown as well as an Australia and New Zealand tour.

The Blackout shows feature extended sets from the group, artists who have released on the labels and special guests. Their E1 show is no exception with a carefully curated line up of some of the biggest names in the neurofunk and techstep genres. E1 is one of the capital’s newest venues and features its own Funktion one ‘wall-of-sound’ setup in its main room.

Joining Black Sun Empire, is the Upbeats, known for their collaboration with Noisia on the award-winning track ‘Dead Limit’ and the Blackout records group State of Mind in a world exclusive triple back to back. This performance will take E1 on a journey through the sounds of neurofunk starting at the beginning in the late 90s. The special guest of the night is the Russian producer Enei from Critical Sound. His sound and selection represent the deeper twisted side of drum and bass. Hosting the night are the MCs Lowqui & Ben Verse, with support from Transit Mafia.

This is a drum and bass experience not to be missed. Blackout London is set to be one of the biggest neurofunk events of the year in the captial. The last remaining advance tickets are available here.
